imperfect pictures is born

The name imperfect pictures comes from two inspirations.

One came from the concept of “wabi sabi” which is the Japanese philosophy that embraces beauty in imperfections and impermanence. Not only are my films a little imperfect, they also tells stories about the imperfections in life.

The second is inspired by my background in gymnastics and tae kwon do. I was obsessed at a young age to strive for perfection. As I have gotten older, I have been confronted by the truth that no one can be perfect, nor should we try to be. All of this was the basis for the name of my studio and the rest is history!

From that I was able to turn the name into the different disciplines of art I am passionate about from imperfect marketing, imperfect games, and imperfect music. Ironically I don’t do photography which would be literal ‘pictures’, but maybe to come.
